Congratulations Jud on your 50 year anniversary as a National Model Railroad Association member!!

Since 1977, the Roseville Roundhouse has been home to HO & N scale model railroaders, railfans, and hobbyists from across the Sacramento region. For nearly five decades, members have shared their knowledge, creativity, and passion for railroading while building our HO & N scale layouts, developing new skills, supporting the community, and preserving local railroad history.
The Roseville Roundhouse Model Railroad Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the hobby of model railroading through layout building, education, innovation, community engagement, and historical preservation. Through the construction and operation of model railroad layouts, members develop new modeling skills, explore emerging technologies, learn railroad operations, and share their knowledge with others.
We welcome hobbyists of all experience levels, from newcomers discovering model railroading for the first time to experienced builders, operators, and railroad historians. Our goal is to create an environment where members can learn, collaborate, and enjoy the many facets of the hobby while preserving the traditions and history of railroading.
The Roseville Roundhouse believes it has a responsibility to share the enjoyment of model railroading and railfanning with the broader community. We support local historical organizations, participate in community events, and contribute to charitable causes, including Shriners Children's Hospital of Sacramento. A portion of proceeds from donated equipment helps support these efforts.
The club maintains the Roseville of the Past layout at the Roseville Historical Society's Carnegie Museum, helping preserve and share the rich railroad heritage of our region. When possible, members also display modular T-Trak layouts at public events throughout the Sacramento area, providing opportunities for people of all ages to experience the hobby firsthand.
One of the benefits of club membership is the opportunity to learn from other model railroaders. Members regularly exchange ideas and techniques covering topics such as:
Electronics and wiring
Scenery construction
Structure building
Painting and weathering
Layout design
Railroad operations
Whether it's through organized clinics, informal discussions, or simply working alongside one another, members are encouraged to share their knowledge and experience. Many of the skills used on our layouts have been passed from one member to another over the years, helping interested members expand their abilities.
The club also maintains an interest in the technical side of the hobby, including digital control systems, Layout Command Control (LCC), Arduino-based automation, and other emerging technologies. While our interests range from traditional craftsmanship to modern electronics, we enjoy exploring new techniques and tools that can enhance the realism and operation of model railroads.
